2027: Ex-First Lady, Patience speaks on Jonathan running for President

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has declared that she will not run for president again in 2027, according to former first lady Dame Patience Jonathan.

According to Patience, Jonathan has held Nigeria’s top political position and has no plans to run for politics again.

Speaking at the Greater Igbo Forum in Abuja, the former First Lady mentioned that Jonathan had served in a number of important political roles.

She gave her word that the former president was determined to back President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to Patience Jonathan: “My husband has reached the pinnacle of political office. What is he looking for again? We are not going in again.”

She also urged the Igbo people to come together and put the common welfare ahead of individual or political grievances.

“We should love this country more than ourselves. Because if you don’t love this country, what is the future of our children?” she queried.

She also exhorted the Igbo people to put politics aside and focus on progress and unification.

“Let us manage one another. Let us love ourselves. Let us be united and be our brother’s keepers,” she added.
