The Rivers State Labour Party section led by Nenadi Usman has formally disbanded and formed the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

At a press conference on Monday, Gogo Wellington, the party’s chairman, and other prominent members announced this.

Wellington called on all party members and the Obidient Movement in Rivers State to give their full support to Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

According to ZINGTIE, Obi recently defected to ADC, the coalition’s chosen party, despite being a member of the group of opposition leaders planning to remove President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Wellington urged LP followers when speaking to party members on Monday, “in the 23 local government areas of Rivers State to join our leader, Mr Peter Obi in the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

“The deteriorating situation of our economy, worsening insecurity have made it evident that the time to rescue this nation is now or never.

“We call on all members of Obidient Movement to join the coalition for a better Nigeria.”
