The Chief Whip of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (APC/Akwanga North Constituency), Ven. Bawa, has allocated N10 million in scholarships to 630 underprivileged students within his constituency studying in various higher institutions.
According to the lawmaker, the gesture was made to raise the educational standards in both his constituency and the entire state.
In his statement, “I will continue to add value to the lives of the people of my constituency.
“Today, I have decided to disburse N20,000 each to 30 postgraduate students, N15,000 each to 400 undergraduate students, and N10,000 each to over 200 non-degree students such as NCE and Diploma.
“This is to support your parents by reducing the burden of school fees on your parents and guardians.” He added
In addition to promising his constituency’s residents continued effective and high-quality representation in the assembly, Ven. Bawa advised the recipients to use the funds to achieve their academic objectives.
“By the grace of God, I will continue to represent you well by continuing to initiate different good policies and programmes that will have a direct bearing on your lives and the lives of others,” he said.
