Social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that singer Burna Boy warned him that Nigerians he is defending could eventually turn against him and “put a knife” in his neck.

VeryDarkMan disclosed this while discussing his activism and the pressure associated with publicly speaking out on issues affecting Nigerians.

According to him, Burna Boy said he had gone through a similar experience and cautioned that standing up for Nigerians could eventually become overwhelming.

“These people, they will put a knife in your neck. Fighting for Nigerians is tiring,” VeryDarkMan quoted Burna Boy as saying.

VeryDarkMan added that Burna Boy also prayed for him after witnessing the backlash he had been receiving, saying Nigerians had previously treated the singer badly despite his contributions and accomplishments.

“Make Burna look me talk say, my guy, na pray I dey pray for you, make you know say them don show am pepper,” VeryDarkMan said.

He also recalled the criticism Burna Boy faced in the United Kingdom following an incident at one of his concerts, alleging that some Nigerians joined calls for the singer to be cancelled despite previously celebrating his international achievements.

VeryDarkMan said Burna Boy’s experience closely mirrored the situation he is currently experiencing, noting that the singer had warned him about the challenges of standing up for Nigerians.
