The Yobe State University Governing Council has named Prof. Bukar Jamri as the institution’s acting vice chancellor.
According to Hajiya Uwani-Mamuda, the university’s Director of Information, in a statement on Wednesday in Damaturu, Jamri’s appointment takes effect on February 13. This development follows the end of Prof. Mala Daura’s tenure as incumbent Vice Chancellor.
Additionally, the council appointed Malam Garba Girgir as the acting registrar, effective January 15. Both appointments were made during an extraordinary council meeting on Wednesday, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to seamless transition and continuity.
Prior to his appointment, Jamri served as the university’s Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. The university community is expected to benefit from his leadership and vision.
