Twelve youths from Igbere in Bende LGA of Abia State have received certificates after completing the Digital Skill Youth Empowerment Programme, sponsored by Chief Sam Okorie, Managing Director of Holafield Multiconcepts Nigeria Limited.
The program, conducted by GetBundi Education Technology, trained the youths in data analytics and web development.
The certificates were presented by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State, at an event held at Chief Okorie’s country home.
Senator Kalu commended Chief Okorie for his initiative and urged other businessmen and women to follow suit, emphasizing the importance of digital technology education for youths.
Three graduates, Bernard Ukachukwu, Ikeweigh Emma, and Elijah Kalu, passed with distinction in Data Analytics.
Chief Okorie expressed his gratitude to GetBundi Education Technology for their dedication and commitment to the training.
Chief Okorie, who is also known as Ihe 1 of Igbere, stated that digital skills acquisition is essential in today’s world, and that empowering youths with these skills is crucial for their future.
He thanked the guests, including Chris Uche (SAN), Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, Eze Uche I. C. Dimgba (Okpotemba 1 of Igbere), and HRH Eze M. I. Ukaogo, the traditional ruler of Eziama Igbere, for attending the event.
Osita Oparaugo, founder of GetBundi Education Technology, praised Chief Okorie’s initiative, saying it would have a lasting impact on the graduates.
“There is no empowerment better than what you have done for these individuals. The skills they have learned will keep them busy and last as long as they live. You have made your brothers and sisters competitive. You didn’t give them fish; you have shown them how to fish. Well done,” Oparaugo said.
“To the graduates, there is nothing limiting you. Continue to build on what you have learned, and should you be interested in remote jobs, please let us know. God bless you all.”
The event marked a significant milestone in the empowerment of youths in Abia State and demonstrated the commitment of Chief Okorie and GetBundi Education Technology to bridging the digital skills gap in the region.
