Ned Nwoko, the Senator representing Delta North in the Senate, has warned Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori against joining his new party, the All Progressives Congress.

Nwoko made this statement immediately after being officially welcomed into the APC by the Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national office in Abuja on Wednesday.

The legislator stated that he would not welcome the governor if he decided to join the APC, as has been speculated, and that Oborevwori was not his match anyplace.

“My first concern in leaving PDP is to make sure that there’s enough time for me to get some things done through federal government. I’m tired of being in Delta and almost like in opposition, because I tell them what to do, they don’t want to do it, I keep telling them.

“Sheriff, is not a match for me anywhere. And so he became a governor by default. And suddenly, he doesn’t respect me anymore.

“No, I will not welcome him. How? Why? I have just told you that he doesn’t have the capacity to be a governor where we are. He has not delivered to my expectations

“We have projects that I told him that are needed to be done for the people which he refused to do,” he said.

Nwoko stated that he will unite the APC, restore peace to the party in Delta State, and give the South-South State to the ruling party in the next general election.

While receiving the Delta North Senator, APC national chairman Ganduje advised Nwoko to collaborate with other stakeholders for the benefit of the party.

“What we are looking forward to is a highly organised party structure in that state, composed of men and women, especially young men who will go from house to house to show that APC dominates almost everywhere.

“You are most welcomed, Distinguished Senator to our great party. There’s no doubt our great party is the most nationalistic party, the party that has spread from all over the country.

“Our party believes in national integration. Our party believes in national unity. Our party believes in progress and providing prosperity to the people of Nigeria,” Ganduje stated.
