Dufil Prima Foods, the makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, have reinforced their commitment to education and youth empowerment by awarding scholarships to 100 indigent students across 10 schools in Kaduna State. The scholarships were presented as part of the Indomie Noodles Back-to-School Scholarship Programme, a key Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at fostering education and contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
The presentation ceremony, held at Junior Secondary School (JSS) Sabo Tasha, brought together students, parents, and teachers in a celebration of academic excellence. Each of the 10 participating schools received ₦500,000 to support their top 10 students, who were selected based on academic performance and financial need.
Speaking at the event, Indomie Noodles’ Regional Manager (North), Abraham Elukpo, reiterated the brand’s commitment to supporting education. “We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their financial background,” he said. “That’s why we’re extending this scholarship initiative to several locations, including Port Harcourt, Ota in Ogun State, and Lagos, to ensure that financial challenges do not hinder students from accessing quality education.”
Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarships and Loans Board (KADSSLB), Professor Yahaya Saleh, commended Indomie Noodles for its significant contribution to education. “This initiative is a life-changing opportunity for many students,” he said. “We appreciate Indomie Noodles for their commitment to empowering young Nigerians and shaping future leaders.
The Principal of JSS Sabo Tasha, Ishaya Ayuba Ranga, also expressed gratitude, calling the scholarship a game-changer that brings hope and encouragement to students. “We’re grateful to Indomie Noodles for this generous support,” he said. “This scholarship will go a long way in helping our students achieve their academic goals.”
Several scholarship recipients shared their excitement and appreciation. Favour Onazi, a student from JSS Sabo Tasha, expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’m so thankful for this scholarship. It will allow me to focus on my studies and achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.”
The Indomie Back-to-School Initiative aims to ease the financial burden on underprivileged students, ensuring they receive quality education regardless of economic background. Similar initiatives have been implemented in other states, reinforcing Indomie Noodles’ dedication to empowering young Nigerians and shaping future leaders.
