According to Chuks Ibegbu, a former spokesperson for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mr. Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, is free to meet with any politician or political organization.
Following Obi’s visit to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Ibegbu told ZINGTIE on Thursday that any meeting geared at improving the nation is acceptable.
“Peter Obi is free to hold meetings with any political entity as long as it is for the betterment of Nigeria,” Ibegbu said.
The former Ohanaeze Ndigbo spokesperson stated that Nigerians will decide their own political destiny in response to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Minister of Works David Umahi’s recent endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term.
He challenged Igbo political leaders to represent their people’s interests in their words and deeds.
“As for the endorsements of Tinubu by Orji Kalu and Umahi, well, it is their right to take their positions, but it is the Nigerian people who will determine their political future in the years to come.
“Besides, the political integrity and dignity of Ndigbo can only be taken seriously when their leading political actors speak and act in a manner that reflects the interests of their people,” Ibegbu said.
