Abubakar Muhammad Kana, the chairman of Kebbi State’s All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied rumors going around social media that Governor Nasir Idris intends to quit the party.

Kana spoke at a gathering of APC stakeholders that included the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, former Governor Sa’idu Dakingari, and Governor Idris and his deputy.

He claimed that Kebbi State is still firmly under APC control and is developing under Governor Idris’ direction.

“We are satisfied with the excellent performance of Governor Nasir Idris at the state level and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level,” Kana stated.

“We are committed to working for their second term in office to continue the good work already started.”

Governor Idris responded by accusing the defection rumors of being the product of intentional lies and disinformation propagated by people with ulterior motives.

He reaffirmed his belief in God and his optimism about the course of his government.

“Kebbi is an APC state, and it will suffice and prosper. We remain resolute in our support for President Tinubu and confidence in his administration, now and in the next tenure, to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizenry,” the governor added.
