All is not well with the All Progressive Congress, APC in Delta north senatorial district over sponsorship and counter endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko, for a second term.

Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents the Delta North senatorial constituency, and Dr. Feanyi Okowa, the immediate former governor, are engaged in a leadership contest.

At a packed APC stakeholders’ meeting held at Senator Nwoko’s rural home in Idumuje-Ugboko last Saturday, party leaders, supporters, and stakeholders unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Senator Nwoko, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

However, Dr. Okowa’s supporters in the senatorial district, the “Forum of APC Ward Chairmen” and the “Forum of Delta North APC LGA Chairmen” rejected the endorsement.

Ogbueishi Adizue Eluaka, the APC chairman in the Delta North senatorial district, criticized the recent illegal publication by the so-called forum that sought to undermine Senator Ned Nwoko’s support for a second term.

Additionally, he dissolved the senatorial district’s party forums.

Eluaka characterized the group as a “unauthorized and unconstitutional body” in a statement issued on Wednesday, emphasizing that its activities did not represent the structure or collective will of the APC in Delta North.

He insisted that any collective entities not specifically approved by the party’s constitution would no longer be recognized.

“We will not sit to watch a few disgruntled, sponsored individuals under the guise of a forum that is unknown to our constitution, cause disunity and dis affection in our party. The APC is a window of opportunity for growth, and these actions are clearly self-serving”, Eluaka declared.

Eluaka declared that going forward, all party interactions would be carried out personally and individually with LGA and ward chairmen in an effort to reestablish discipline and unity within the ranks.

He issued a warning that any gathering called by the now-dissolved forums or any unapproved organization would be considered unlawful and would be punished.
