British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged Iran to resume diplomatic discussions concerning its nuclear program, following the United States’ involvement in the conflict and its recent precision attacks on Iranian nuclear sites earlier today.

In a message shared on X (previously known as Twitter), Starmer emphasized the critical importance of diplomacy in reducing tensions across the Middle East and cautioned against any further instability.

“Iran’s nuclear programme is a grave threat to international security. Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon and the US has taken action to alleviate that threat,” the prime minister wrote.

“We call on Iran to return to the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis,” he added.

His statement follows President Donald Trump’s announcement that U.S. military forces had struck major nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan, aligning with Israel’s extended efforts to neutralize Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities over the past week.

The British government has adopted a careful approach, backing allied measures to curb nuclear weapons development while continuing to advocate for diplomatic engagement and avoiding a broader regional conflict.

Officials from Downing Street indicate that the UK remains in close consultation with France, Germany, and the U.S. to explore renewed diplomatic solutions with Iran.
