Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University in Lapai has declared June 24 and 25, 2025, as lecture-free days to honor a student who tragically lost their life. According to the Deputy Registrar, Information, Alhaji Baba Akote, “The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, had declared Tuesday, 24th June, and Wednesday, 25th June, 2025 as Lectures free days in honour of the deceased student.”

The university management assures that normalcy has been restored in Lapai town and on campus. Alhaji Baba Akote stated, “This development follows a high-level emergency security meeting convened by the University Management and attended by key stakeholders.”

The management categorically denies rumors of alleged attacks by local youths, emphasizing that “the situation in Lapai is now calm, and students are encouraged to go about their academic and personal activities without hindrance.
