Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa State during the 2023 elections, has stated that party members are awaiting instructions from Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso regarding future political directions.

Ringim made this known during an interview, addressing widespread speculation about the party’s potential alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.

This comes in the midst of circulating rumors suggesting that NNPP may be exploring a merger with one of the country’s prominent political parties.

He called on NNPP supporters to dismiss such speculation and stay focused on preparing for the next electoral cycle.

He also encouraged party officials from the grassroots up to the state leadership to remain cohesive and continue their efforts toward strengthening the party.

“I want to tell all our party supporters that, for now, we are for NNPP and we will continue to work for the party. If there is any development we will receive it from our leader Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, he is our focus and he is the one we follow.

“Therefore whatever decision he takes, we are ready and happy to follow him for the development of the country” Ringim said.

There are strong signs that conversations may be taking place between NNPP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding a potential alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
