Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has cautioned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against actions that could cause division within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He stressed that all factions supporting President Bola Tinubu’s reelection should be unified under the official APC leadership in the state.

Speaking at a meeting with the party’s leaders caucus at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Akure, Aiyedatiwa emphasized the supremacy of the party above any individual groups.

Highlighting the emergence of various support groups across the state ahead of the elections, the governor urged for solidarity and cooperation within the APC.

Since there is no governorship election in Ondo in 2027, Aiyedatiwa underscored that the entire focus should be on securing Tinubu’s return to office.

“Our strength lies in our unity, and all of us as leaders of the APC in the state must come together to build on the foundation already laid.

“We are heading towards general elections, it is expected that various support groups will spring up. However, all groups must be under the leadership of the Central Party structure, which has the State Working Committee and the State Caucus as core components. We don’t have any pending governorship elections here in Ondo State.”
