In light of the widespread insecurity in Nigeria, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) claims that neither the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nor the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are concerned about the plight of the populace.
Following a spate of violent attacks that have reportedly claimed over 140 lives in the last two months, the ADC encouraged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to impose a state of emergency in Katsina and Zamfara States, according to a statement made by Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary.
The ADC criticized the Federal Government’s response to the issue and characterized the killings as evidence of Nigeria’s disintegrating security structure, accusing the APC and PDP of being solely interested in politics and power.
“This evil act epitomises the horrors that Nigerians have been forced to endure under this administration.
“It is also a damning proof of the total collapse of our national security architecture, which has prompted even the nation’s Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, to ask citizens to learn how to defend themselves,” Abdullahi said.
He chastised President Tinubu for putting foreign commitments ahead of pressing local issues.
