Following a convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, Former Minister of Special Duties Kabiru Turaki, SAN, was named the new National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday.

Turaki is a reputable lawyer with knowledge of international criminal law, corporate mergers, electoral petitions, arbitration, constitutional law, and intellectual property. In addition, he is a Notary Public.
As a testament to his reputation and achievements in the legal world, he is a Fellow of both the Institute of Corporate Administration (FCIDA) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
Turaki strengthened his influence in federal administration by holding the roles of Supervising Minister of Labor and Productivity, Minister of Special Duties, and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.
He has run for both the party’s presidential ticket and the governorship of Kebbi State. He is currently the chair of the PDP Former Ministers’ Forum. He has solid networks within the party’s institutions thanks to his steadfast devotion and involvement.
He was born in Birnin Kebbi on April 3, 1957, and comes from a family with a reputation for academic achievement and civic service. Additionally, he is known by traditional titles such Zarumman Kabbi and Dan Masanin Gwandu.
He has been characterized as modest and dedicated to serving the people.
