The Igbo Community Association in Abuja says the anomalies that plagued the 2023 general elections will not be accepted in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
This came as the committee tasked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with ensuring free, fair, and credible elections in 2027.
It cautioned that people are now more aware and prepared, and they will not sit and watch votes stolen or manipulated.
The President General, Ikenna Ellis – Ezenekwe, and the Secretary General, Emmanuel Onah, issued a statement on this.
The Association urged INEC to be more aggressive in utilizing the large budgetary allocations for election-related operations in order to conduct credible elections.
“It’s time for INEC to justify the trust reposed in it by the Nigerian people. We expect a more efficient and effective electoral process that reflects the will of the people.
“The Igbo Community Association, FCT, is committed to promoting democratic participation and good governance in Nigeria. We urge all Igbo citizens in Abuja to register to vote and shape the future of our great nation,” the statement read.
