The impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu have been halted by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
TVC News reports that during its resumed sitting in Port Harcourt on Thursday, the House adopted a motion to stop the impeachment process.
The development is linked to the recent intervention by President Bola Tinubu.
Recently, the President held a meeting with the governor, Nyesom Wike (the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT), and assembly leaders.
Recent developments indicate that the protracted political crisis in Rivers State might have come to an end.
