Gary Neville, a former captain of Manchester United, has disclosed that Manuel Ugarte will depart the club alongside Casemiro during this summer’s transfer window.

On Sunday, following Manchester United’s 3-1 victory against Aston Villa in the Premier League, the Englishman spoke.

“Casemiro is leaving, and I think Ugarte will leave too, so Manchester United need two really good central midfielders this summer transfer window,” Neville stated during his Sky Sports podcast.

“Probably one that is more positional, like a Michael Carrick-type, and one that is more of a destroyer.”

Ugarte was signed by Man United from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, but the midfielder has had difficulty establishing himself at the Premier League club.

Ugarte has not managed to earn a starting position for the Red Devils under Michael Carrick, who is serving as caretaker manager of Man United.
