The Spiritual Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has raised concerns over a possible security threat along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The cleric called on security agencies to remain vigilant and strengthen surveillance along the highway.

He made the remarks while speaking to members of his congregation during a church service on Sunday.

According to Primate Ayodele, the development could occur within the months of July or August.

He said, “Lagos-Ibadan expressway, I don’t know the exact time, but it’s either July or August. Bandits will block the road. Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

“They will block the road. So the security agencies need to take this into account.”

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway remains one of Nigeria’s busiest highways, serving as a major route connecting Lagos with states in the South-West and several parts of Northern Nigeria.

The highway plays a significant role in the movement of people, goods and commercial activities across different regions of the country.

Primate Ayodele had recently criticized the Federal Government over the state of insecurity in the country, accusing the authorities of failing to adequately fulfill their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property.

The cleric has repeatedly urged government and security agencies to take proactive steps in addressing the country’s security challenges.
