Striker Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles stated that he hopes to leave Nigeria with a memorable performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which is now taking place on the Ivory Coast.

Osimhen, who assisted Jose Peseiro’s team in getting to the quarterfinals, has been one of the AFCON’s most impressive players.

Throughout the match over the weekend, the Napoli attacker caused problems for the Cameroonian defense by setting up Ademola Lookman for Nigeria’s opening goal.

Only one goal has the 25-year-old scored in the AFCON, and it came against Equatorial Guinea.

“I want to win something with this great squad,” The Guardian UK reporter Osasu Obayiuwana quoted Osimhen as saying.

“I want to give Nigeria something that they will remember. I’m giving everything to come home with the [AFCON] trophy.”

When Nigeria plays Angola in round eight, Osimhen will be hoping to lead his team to victory.
