Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has once again thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid to return to office in the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke spoke after being declared the winner of the recently concluded Osun State governorship election, describing Tinubu as a son of Osun State.
The governor also expressed appreciation to the President for what he described as his support for a transparent, free and fair electoral process.
“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election.
“President Tinubu is son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.
Tinubu had earlier on Sunday congratulated Adeleke following his victory in the governorship poll.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Adeleke the winner on Sunday morning after he defeated his closest challenger, All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
Adeleke secured victory in 19 Local Government Areas, polling a total of 511,067 votes.
Oyebamiji, meanwhile, won 11 Local Government Areas with 444,815 votes.
