AFCON 2023: Iwobi in shock retirement from Super Eagles after Ivory Coast defeat

Alex Iwobi, the midfielder for the Super Eagles, is rumored to be considering his staying on the national team.

Iwobi is not happy with the criticism he has been receiving after Nigeria’s performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, sources have told ZINGTIE.

The Eagles led the first half against host Ivory Coast on Sunday but ultimately lost 2-1.

Iwobi, who plays club football for Fulham, made one appearance for 79 minutes before Alhassan Yusuf took his place.

The midfield player was forced to remove every piece of content from his Instagram page after the game because he was the subject of trolls and cyberbullies.

Iwobi is very seriously considering pulling out of further games for Nigeria.
