AFCON: ‘Why are we so quick to turn against our own’ – Singer, Falz defends Alex Iwobi

The well-known activist and rapper from Nigeria, Folarin Falana, also called Falz the Bad Guy, has taken to social media to support Alex Iwobi, a player for the Super Eagles.

According to ZINGTIE, Iwobi has been subjected to harsh criticism on the internet by Nigerians because of his supposedly subpar performance in Sunday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.

Falz defended the player, saying that every one of the players who don green and white to represent Nigeria in an AFCON game has made a sacrifice and should not be treated unfairly.

Posting a photo of Alex Iwobi on his Instagram feed on Monday night, the rapper kicked against cyber-bullying while expressing his love for the player.

Falz wrote; “We win together, we lose together. Every single player that puts on the green white green to represent us, is making an immense sacrifice and does not deserve to be treated with this much disdain.

“We speak a lot about cyber-bullying but we are so quick to turn against our own. @alexanderiwobi Love you bro! Thank you.”
