AFCON 2023: South Africa coach, Broos plans for Super Eagles upset

According to the DAILY POST, South Africa’s head coach, Hugo Broos, is adamant that his squad will defeat Nigeria to earn a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Bafana Bafana defeated Cape Verde 2-1 on penalty shootouts on Saturday to secure their spot in round eight.

At the Stade de Paix in Bouake on Wednesday night, Broos’ team will play the Super Eagles for a spot in the championship game.

Without a doubt, the Super Eagles are the clear favorite to win the match.

But the Belgian is counting on him to put an end to the three-time winners.

“Reaching the semifinal is very special for South African football,” said the gaffer who led Cameroon to win the 2017 AFCON.

“Maybe we can make a surprise (vs Nigeria) now.

“The hunger is big to play the final next Sunday.”
