In response to speculation that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had appointed him as a backroom staff member in advance of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has addressed the claims.
After Enyeama wrote “Let’s gooooo. See you in camp. Time for business” in a social media post last week, rumours started to circulate.
Also, it sparked rumours among supporters that the 41-year-old will work as a goalie trainer.
Enyeama, however, has since stated that he will only visit Jose Peseiro’s team, and his remarks were private.
“I haven’t been given any appointment by the NFF, neither was there any such discussion. That was only a personal comment, meaning I will visit them in camp when I attend the AFCON.
“Any opportunity to encourage the lads, I use it,” Enyeama said according to G.O.A.T.
