Nigerian lawmaker Doyin Okupe reacted to notable author Chimamanda Adichie’s comments about Jesus Christ made during her speech in Germany.

In a widely shared viral video, Adichie was talking about “Ikenga” when he shared the story of Jesus Christ.

While addressing a sizable crowd in Germany, Adichie said: “I cannot help but really wonder what could be more magical in the story of a man who dies and then magically rises again. A man who manages to magically give his body as bread”.

Nevertheless, Okupe has now responded to Adichie’s statement. He added that Chimamanda’s remarks on Jesus Christ in her lecture in Germany were regrettable and needless in a message published on his official X Twitter on Thursday.

It was written on Doyin Okupe’s page: “Chimamanda’s comments on Jesus Christ in her speech in Germany is unfortunate and unnecessary. Christ offering his body as bread was a covenanted promise of eternal life while his resurrection was an act of assurance by God of the immortality of his only begotten son”.
