Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has promised to take firm action against the criminals who recently attacked medical staff and patients at Kankara General Hospital.

In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Muhammad Kaula, Governor Radda expressed his indignation and denounced the attack, calling it a heinous act that targeted healthcare facilities and vulnerable patients.

“This assault on healthcare workers and patients shows how low and cruel these bandits are,” the Governor stated. Though we have made noticeable progress in reducing these attacks, this incident reminds us that our mission is not complete.”

He disclosed intentions to put in place further security measures, such as sending more staff to medical facilities throughout the state.

“The Government of Katsina will not allow criminals to impede access to medical care or endanger healthcare workers. Anyone found aiding these criminals or participating in such attacks will face the full force of the law. There will be no haven for those who threaten our healthcare system,” Radda warned.

Additionally, the governor assured the impacted hospital staff and the Nigerian Medical Association’s (NMA) Katsina State Chapter that his administration is dedicated to their safety.

He underlined that his government continues to place a high premium on safeguarding residents and healthcare professionals.
