Alleged assault: Osimhen set for court showdown with Turkish journalist

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Galatasaray, has sued Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman for defamation.

Onokala Onyebuchi, also known as “Buchi Laba,” Osimhen’s close buddy and radio host, revealed this in a post on X on Sunday.

“Victor Osimhen has officially sued the journalist that accused the Nigerian international of hitting him. The case officially will start in court tomorrow,” Buchi Laba tweeted.

Following Galatasaray’s 3–3 draw with Dynamo Kyiv earlier this month, Bozduman accused the Nigerian international of assault.

As the issue around the alleged incident grows, Osimhen is now being watched off the field.

When Bozduman was trying to take pictures of the Napoli loanee outside a venue, Osimhen allegedly got hostile and punched him.

Osimhen reportedly offered money to have the video of the fight removed.

The striker, 26, has vehemently refuted the accusations, calling them untrue.

“If I hit him, he’s going to get justice, and if he lied, he’s going to get the wrath of the law,” Osimhen said, expressing his disappointment over the incident.

The football player’s resolve to defend his reputation and clear his name is demonstrated by his decision to file a lawsuit.

Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer, Osimhen has been playing well.
