The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has alleged that a military general was instructed to eliminate him during the 2019 general elections.

He made this disclosure during an interview with Channels Television on Thursday.

Wike claimed that the order was issued by the then Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

He further stated that several opposition governors currently speaking out about political intimidation have not encountered the level of threats he faced while serving in office.

“General Saham, former General Officer Commanding 6 Division, tried to kill me.

“Amaechi promised to make him the next Chief of Staff.

“General Saham ordered that I should be shot. When I heard that he is now in the NSA office, I refused to go there.

“General Saham ordered that as a sitting governor that I should be shot. And when the Colonel refused, he was detained for six months.”
