Ballon d’Or 2025: ‘Without a doubt’- Rabiot, Luis Enrique name player to win award

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique and Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot have both backed PSG star Ousmane Dembélé to claim this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Rabiot, speaking during a press conference on Monday ahead of the Spain vs France match, emphasized that Dembélé is deserving of the prestigious award. Highlighting the winger’s achievements this season, he noted that the French international played a key role in PSG’s Champions League triumph as well as their domestic success.

“For me, Dembélé deserves the Ballon d’Or,” Rabiot said, as quoted by GFFN.

Echoing similar sentiments, Luis Enrique praised Dembélé’s impact throughout the campaign, crediting his standout performances as crucial to the team’s accomplishments.

“…I would give the Ballon d’Or to Ousmane Dembélé… He deserves the Ballon d’Or, without a doubt…” Enrique told beIN Sports.

Dembélé faces competition from the likes of Mohamed Salah, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, all of whom were instrumental in guiding their respective teams to league victories this season.

Despite the strong contenders, Dembélé boasts an impressive list of accolades this year, including titles in Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League, and the Coupe de France. He was also named Champions League Player of the Season.

Over the Ligue 1 campaign, he registered 21 goals and provided six assists. In Europe’s top competition, he found the back of the net eight times and contributed six assists. Additionally, Dembélé tallied three goals in as many appearances in the Coupe de France, and scored the match-winner in the Trophée des Champions.
