Portugal manager Roberto Martinez has backed midfielder Vitinha as a future Ballon d’Or winner.
Vitinha was instrumental in Paris Saint-Germain’s historic Treble-winning campaign this season.
The French giants secured the Ligue 1 title, lifted the Coupe de France, and dominated Inter Milan with a 5-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League final.
Speaking to A Bola after Portugal’s 2-1 triumph over Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Wednesday night, Martinez expressed his belief that Vitinha deserves to be recognized as the world’s best footballer.
He said: “Vitinha is a player who has been essential for PSG to win everything they have won.
“He deserves to be awarded the Ballon d’Or.”
Vitinha’s PSG team-mate, Ousmane Dembele, is regarded as the leading candiate to win the Ballon d’Or award.
