Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, passed away.
The representative of the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency reportedly passed away following a brief illness.

Onanuga was 60 years old and the House of Representatives’ Deputy Chief Whip.
Regarding the unfortunate news, neither her family nor the National Assembly have issued an official comment as of yet. Onanuga, who was born on December 2, 1965, was a well-known politician and entrepreneur. Since 2023, she has served in the Nigerian House of Representatives as the Deputy Chief Whip.
She was born to Nigerian parents in Hammersmith, London, and her adventure started there. She ran successfully for a House of Representatives seat in 2019 while representing the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In addition, Onanuga chaired the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, where she promoted important causes pertaining to social welfare and gender equality.
