BREAKING: Rivers Assembly clears 9 commissioners who resigned from Fubara’s cabinet

Following the political crisis that rocked the state, nine former commissioners resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration. All of them have been rescreened and cleared by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

According to ZINGTIE, the commissioners submitted their resignation letters in November of last year amid a confrontation between Fubara and his predecessor, former governor Nyesom Wike, currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT.

Fubara did, however, resubmit the nine applicants’ names to the State House of Assembly a few days ago for approval.

During Wednesday’s plenary session, the former commissioners were instructed to “bow and leave” the chamber.
