Budgets padding – Basketmouth send strong query to lawmakers

The achievements of Nigerian senators have been queried by famous comedian Bright Okpocha, often known as Basketmouth.

The alleged N3.7 trillion that was padded into the nation’s 2024 budget is becoming the subject of controversy.

According to ZINGTIE, Senator Abdul Ningi, who is representing Bauchi Central, alleged in an interview a week ago that the N3.7 trillion in the 2024 budget could not be linked to specific projects.

In response to the accusation, Ningi was suspended for three months by the Senate during its plenary meeting on Tuesday, which was chaired by Godswill Akpabio.

Basketmouth responded to the development by questioning whether the Nigerian Senate had ever done anything for the common people other than increase budgets in a post on his Instagram story.

He wrote: “I have got a question, aside padding budgets, what else do our senators do?

“Like, what have they done in the past 50 years that favored the average Nigerian?”
