Despite Napoli’s 3-1 loss to Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday, Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has applauded Victor Osimhen for his positive attitude.
Despite Osimhen’s lack of a goal in the match, Del Piero thinks the team’s collective effort deserves credit for his performance.
Osimhen has stayed positive and dedicated to the club despite Napoli’s poor season, in which the club has struggled to duplicate its output from the previous campaign.
Despite missing multiple games due to injury, the 25-year-old striker has emerged as one of Napoli’s most valuable players this season, netting 11 goals in the Serie A.
Del Piero feels confident in Osimhen’s importance to the team despite the defeat to Barcelona.
“You may feel down, but his [Osimhen’s] qualities are unquestionable,” Del Piero said per Napoli Magazine.
“In general, he is in a very negative season for Napoli, and therefore, he has not faced everything that has happened in this season with a smile, but his attitude has always been positive.”
