The reasons for the late former president Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to support his former vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, as his successor have come to light.

Because Buhari had never met Osinbajo, his former vice president, he did not back Osinbajo’s 2022 presidential campaign.

According to Dr. Charles Omole’s biography, “From Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammad Buhari,” the late former president claimed to have only met Osinbajo via President Bola Tinubu.

The book claims that Buhari was taken aback by Osinbajo’s decision to run against Tinubu in the 2022 All Progressives Congress, or APC, presidential election.

“I don’t know Osinbajo from anywhere, I met him only through Tinubu,” stated Buhari in the book, which was unveiled at the presidential villa on Tuesday.

Many people think that Osinbajo was one of the people Tinubu developed while serving as Lagos State’s governor.

While Tinubu was governor, he served as Lagos State’s Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.

It is thought that Tinubu recommended Osinbajo to Buhari as his running mate in the run-up to the 2015 presidential election.
