Chelsea star Cole Palmer has responded to those who doubted the team ahead of their Club World Cup final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Palmer delivered a standout performance, netting two goals and assisting Joao Pedro in a dominant 3-0 victory over PSG at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Speaking after the match, the England international credited manager Enzo Maresca for the team’s success, telling DAZN that the coach had equipped them with the ideal tactical approach.

“Even better, because obviously everyone doubted us before the game,” Palmer said.

“I like finals and it happened again. The gaffer put a great game plan out.

“He knew where the space was going to be. I just had to repay him and score some goals.

“He’s building something special. We are going in the right direction.”

Cole was also named Player of the Tournament.
