Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi attributed their 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the 2025 Club World Cup final on Sunday to player fatigue.
The Ligue 1 titleholders missed out on securing their fifth trophy of the season after the defeat to the English side.
However, in an interview with PSG’s official website, Al-Khelaifi expressed pride in the team’s efforts.
“Congratulations to Chelsea. They deserved their victory,” he said.
“We wanted to win this Club World Cup, but it’s difficult.
“The players gave their all. They were tired. We had a great season, the best in the club’s history.
“We’re proud of the players and the staff. This defeat is good for us, for next season. We have to be humble. We’re the youngest team in the competition.”
