Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, has downplayed any danger to President Bola Tinubu.

Contrary to popular belief, he claimed, the new coalition party attempting to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has no chance of defeating President Bola Tinubu.

He asserts that the alliance poses no threat and does not imply that Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress were in danger.

In response to the National Opposition Coalition Group’s declaration, Senator Sani made this statement in an interview on Channels Television on Friday.

The NOCG is led by former Senate President David Mark and includes former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, among others.

“I can tell you today, but go and write it down and remember this day. Asiwaju has no threat,” Sani said.

“Most of the people speaking today, where were they when we were in the trenches fighting for democracy, for justice, for good governance, for the rule of law? They didn’t know anything about it,” he added.

El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, reportedly stated that President Tinubu could not win the 2027 presidential election.

El-Rufai claimed that Tinubu and the APC had let Nigerians down and had nothing to give. He questioned why anyone would support a party that had caused so much pain, in his opinion.
