Conspiracy theory – ADC reacts to Governor Okpebholo’s comment on North

Governor Monday Okpebholo has come under fire from the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, for his recent remarks about insecurity, calling them offensive and unsettling.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s spokesperson, said in a statement on X that the governor’s comments were “not just careless, they are disturbing.”

The governor’s alleged statement sparked the issue.

The Governor reportedly said: “They are kidnapping people because somebody wants to win election, it’s not fair. They did this to former President Jonathan and they succeeded, but we know their trick already.”

However, Abdullahi pointed out that “instead of giving them answers, this APC government is busy spinning fancy conspiracy theories,” despite the fact that many families are still in mourning and yearning for the safe return of their loved ones.

He claimed that the state of affairs is disgraceful and illustrates the mentality of the ruling party.

According to him, “when government replaces hard evidence and real intelligence with baseless accusations and conspiracy theories, you know that we have a serious problem.”

Abdullahi asked the governor if he realized the ramifications of his assertions, reminding him that “the person that led the weaponisation of insecurity to discredit GEJ is the same man that is in power today.”

He also questioned why a public figure would say something like that.
