Court issues new order for the arrest warrant against Fubara’s Chief of Staff, others

The arrest warrant for River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s chief of staff, Edison Ehie, was revoked by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In a court ruling dated April 25, 2024, Justice Emeka Nwite declared that the order was made without jurisdiction.

Jinjiri Bala, Happy Bennett, Progress Joseph, Adokiye Oyagiri, and Chibuike Peter are among the other individuals impacted by the order.

Justice Nwite said, “That the order made by this Honourable Court on January 31 2024 for the warrant of arrest of the Defendants/Applicants and to have them declared wanted is made without jurisdiction, and the same is hereby set aside.”

According to ZINGTIE, the Chief of Staff and a few other people were sued for allegedly committing terrorist crimes.

But the judge proclaimed them sought soon after the charge was brought against them.

Oluwile Aladedoye, the respondents’ attorney, had argued that the court should postpone the judgment’s execution until after the hearing and resolution of the request to set aside their warrant of arrest.
