Nigeria Customs Service Reaffirms Commitment to Trade Facilitation

The Nigeria Customs Service, Lagos Industrial Area Command, FESTAC Town, has reiterated its dedication to facilitating trade and maintaining an open-door policy for officers and stakeholders. This commitment was conveyed by the new Customs Area Comptroller, Sarah Wadinda, as she assumed office, succeeding her predecessor, Rebecca Chokor.

“I am committed to facilitating trade with an open door to both officers and stakeholders,” Wadinda stated. “The focus of the NCS and the CGC Adewale Adeniyi is trade facilitation and revenue collection.” She emphasised that the command’s activities will align with the Comptroller-General’s policy thrusts, which include collaboration, consolidation, and innovation.

Wadinda pledged to enhance cooperation between the command and excise traders, ensuring compliance with excise regulations and facilitating trade through support and guidance. She urged stakeholders to familiarise themselves with established NCS laws to ensure seamless excise trade and stronger relationships with the command.

“The command monitors production processes, ensures compliance with excise regulations, and facilitates trade by providing necessary support and guidance to excise traders,” Wadinda explained. She reaffirmed her commitment to upholding the service’s core values professionally and building on the legacy of her predecessor
