Death Casualty Rise As Russia, Ukraine Trade Deadly Strikes

Fresh violence has claimed at least 14 lives after Russia and Ukraine exchanged a new round of deadly attacks, with officials from both countries confirming fatalities from strikes carried out on Sunday.

According to authorities, Ukrainian strikes inside Russian territory resulted in the deaths of at least nine people, while separate Russian bombardments across Ukraine killed five others.

The renewed hostilities come as Moscow and Kyiv continue to intensify their air offensives, with the war now stretching into its fifth year without any clear path to a lasting peace.

Data released by the United Nations shows that civilian deaths and injuries in Ukraine have increased significantly this year, largely due to Russia’s growing use of long-range missiles that are difficult for Ukraine’s air defence systems to intercept.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has sustained retaliatory operations deep within Russian territory.

The counterattacks have reportedly focused on key locations, including energy facilities and commercial storage sites, as Kyiv seeks to pile pressure on Moscow and encourage negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.
