According to SGF Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has turned into a new sanctuary for criminals escaping the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This came after Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, a former Action Alliance candidate for governor of Kogi State, switched to the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, on Saturday.

At the ADC stakeholders’ gathering in Yola, Adamawa State, Babachir declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC would lose the general elections in 2027.

Asserting that the APC’s sole motto was to write election results before the polls had started, the ADC’s national vice chairman called the party crazy.

“This is pure delusion because it will not happen. Nigerians will back us to frustrate any criminal manipulation of the 2027 election results,” he stated.

However, the former SGF cautioned that not all politicians who leave other parties will be welcomed into the ADC for fear of tainting its principles with views taken from their corrupt, anti-democratic home parties.

He characterized the ADC as a group of patriots and visionaries who are tired of the way the PDP and APC are leading the nation.

“Every patriotic Nigerian now understands that our country has reached the edge of a cliff. The ADC offers Nigerians an opportunity to make a U-turn, recalibrate, and redirect our governance toward a progressive, people-centric system,” he stated.
