The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba, has presented starter packs comprising laptops and cash to constituents who successfully completed vocational and skills training programmes. The beneficiaries were part of the first batch of the Digital Skills Training Programme organized by the Local Council.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Ogorugba announced that “an empowerment programme for elderly women will commence soon, following the commissioning of ongoing council projects.” He stated that the initiatives align with the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, which focuses on empowering citizens and driving economic growth.
“The skills they have acquired will not only boost their economic opportunities, but also enhance their self-esteem and confidence,” Ogorugba said. “Our administration remains committed to empowering our people. This skills acquisition programme is just one of the many initiatives we have implemented to equip our citizens with the tools they need to succeed, in line with the Governor’s MORE Agenda.”
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman, describing the gesture as a life-changing opportunity. They vowed to make the best use of their starter packs and thanked the local government administration for it’s commitment to empowering citizens
