Dr. Peter Odey, the deputy governor of Cross River State, has warned council legislative house leaders not to engage in gossiping or hearsay.

He also advised them to keep a cordial working relationship with their council chairmen and warned them against divisive actions.

On Thursday, Odey spoke to the parliamentarians at a pivotal gathering in Calabar.

Odey informed them of forthcoming legislative training, emphasizing the necessity of promoting unity and enhancing capacity for efficient governance.

He promised that within the month of January, their official vehicles would arrive.

He stressed the importance of teamwork and reminded them to constantly keep in mind their position as “primus inter pares,” or first among equals, and to treat their coworkers with decency and respect.

In response, ThankGod Ekupnse, the head of the Etung Local administration Council, praised the administration for putting the wellbeing of Cross Riverians—especially the young people—first.
