Ebenezer Comprehensive High School Old Students Association (ECHSOSA) Class of 1999, also known as the Pacesetters, has demonstrated their commitment to giving back to their alma mater by paying the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) 2025 fees for three deserving students.

The beneficiaries of this kind gesture are Afolarin Adisa from the science class, Oluwatobi Favour from the art class, and Aremu from the commercial class. The awards were presented during the alumni’s 25th anniversary celebration and reunion, themed “The Role of Alumni in Nation Building.”

According to the president of the alumni association, Comrade Opeyemi Folawewo, alumni play a crucial role in nation-building. “Alumni contribute significantly to societal development by guiding younger generations through mentorship, supporting local initiatives, promoting economic growth, and fostering innovation.”

Folawewo further emphasized the importance of alumni in driving economic growth, innovation, and research. “Alumni can drive economic growth by creating jobs, investing in businesses, and promoting entrepreneurship. They can also contribute to innovation and research, leading to new products, services, and technologies.”

He also highlighted the role of alumni in supporting education and research. “They can also collaborate with academia to develop new knowledge, technologies, and innovations. Alumni can facilitate networking and collaboration among professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizations, leading to new partnerships, business opportunities, and social impact initiatives.

The principal of the school, Mrs. Agunbiade Olanike, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Class of 1999 for their consistent support. “We are truly grateful for the Pacesetters’ kind gestures toward the students. They always identify the school’s needs and ensure they provide support. I urge other alumni sets to emulate their example,” she said.
