Nigeria’s electricity sector recorded 5,403.3 megawatts of available power generation on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, according to the Daily Load Allocation Table issued by the National Control Centre, NCC.
Of the total available generation, 4,379.07MW was transmitted to electricity distribution companies, DisCos, operating across the country.
The latest figures showed that Abuja DisCo received the largest allocation, with 700MW, representing 15.20 percent under the NERC percentage.
Ikeja DisCo followed with 581MW, representing 15.01 percent, while Ibadan DisCo received 550MW, equivalent to 11.93 percent.
Benin DisCo also received 531MW, representing 8.04 percent of its NERC allocation.
Other DisCos received varying amounts in line with the allocations approved under NERC guidelines.
Eko DisCo received 519MW, followed by Enugu with 512MW and Port Harcourt with 466MW.
Kano DisCo received 161MW, while Kaduna got 155MW, Jos received 134MW and Yola was allocated 70MW.
Meanwhile, 1,024.18MW was recorded under exempted loads.
The exempted category covered electricity used by power stations and auxiliary facilities, which accounted for 108.07MW.
It also included 367.87MW attributed to transmission losses and substation services.
Other components of the exempted loads comprised bilateral and international electricity supplies, including power allocated to Niger and local industrial consumers.
The latest development comes amid efforts by the Federal Government to improve electricity supply across the country.
Recall that the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, had attributed recent improvements in electricity availability to the restoration of the 375MW Alaoji power plant after it remained inactive for three years.
The minister also linked the improvement to other measures being implemented by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the power sector.
